Pantone Matching System (PMS)

Pantone is a standardized spot colour system that assigns unique identification numbers to specific ink formulations. Unlike CMYK, which mixes four process inks to create colours, spot inks are pre-mixed to achieve precise, consistent results across different print jobs. You select a specific Pantone number when you need a colour that standard CMYK inks cannot reproduce, such as metallics, fluorescents, or exact brand matches. The system ensures that the colour you specify on your design file matches the physical ink used on the final card, regardless of the printing method or paper stock.
